Facilities

The members of the Reactive Flow Modeling Laboratory benefit from the availability of state of the art computational resources as well as experimental facilities.​​​​​​​ Close collaboration with the Clean Combustion Research Center (CCRC) guarantees access to expertise in a number of diagnostics for thermal/fluid systems.
PIV flow field
A number of optical and advanced diagnostic tools are available to characterize velocity fields (Particle Image Velocimetry), droplet sizes (Phase Doppler Interferometer), mixing (acetone PLIF & planar Rayleigh scattering), aerosol distributions (Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer), and chemical composition (GC/MSD).
Shaheen racks

A dedicated 512-cpu Linux cluster and access to campus wide High-Performance-Computing platforms (IBM Blue Gene/P Shaheen), visualization facilities (Cornea), engineering workstations and a wide array of software licenses.
